Manuscript Submissions (for West Coast Authors)
Who We Are
Papeachu Press publishes single-author titles and two annual print anthologies—all work is created by women, nonbinary, and genderqueer artists.
We're proud to invite you to submit to our new series of single-author books by writers living on the West Coast.
As a press, we exist to boost emerging writers and introduce them to their first (or second) book.
Guidelines
We read manuscripts on a rolling basis. Poetry, short story, hybrid work, comics, and personal essay will be considered. Sorry, no plays or novels.
In order to best serve the needs of our artists, we only accept submissions from authors based in Washington, Oregon, and California. We believe that the connection between an author and their press is a true collaboration, and we don't want geographical distance get in the way.
Please send us the first 20 pages of your full-length manuscript in .docx or .pdf format. We will contact you for the full text if we take an interest in the work.
Our response time is about six months.
Papeachu does not print the language of racism, cultural appropriation, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any other harmful language of any kind. We do not publish depictions of suicide attempts or suicidal ideation.
Format
We accept MS Word (.docx) and PDF (.pdf) formats. Please title your document with your name and title of your book (e.g. Ada Limón—Bright Dead Things).
Submit!
We're very interested in publishing a collection of short story and/or personal essay. Hybrid work that incorporates visual art is especially appealing. And we also love poetry! Send it our way; we want to support your best and most beloved work.
We are most interested in showcasing BIPOC, nonbinary, and genderqueer voices. Tell your friends.
