Who We Are

Papeachu Review is an annual print anthology of poetry, short fiction, essay, artwork, photography, and comics—all created by women, nonbinary, and genderqueer artists from around the world.

Theme

The theme for our 2024 issue is ATMOSPHERE and everything that word means to you. Your interpretation might go in any number of directions: the mood in a room; the political climate in your country; atmospheric music; our planet's atmosphere and climate; meteorology; good vibes; nitrogen, oxygen, trace elements; smoke; the water cycle. These are just a few ideas to get you started. Please take our theme into your own creative studio and see what happens!

Guidelines

Here at Papeachu, we know that traditional grammar rules have been used as weapons of oppression, so we do not edit for grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. Please proofread your own submission.

Up to three pieces per contributor could be accepted for publication. Submitting in multiple genres is cool with us! (max. 20 pages, across all genres)

Poetry: up to 5 poems (max. 10 pages)

Prose: up to 5,000 words (max. 20 pages)

Comics and Visual Art: up to 5 pieces (black and white only)

Papeachu does not print the language of racism, cultural appropriation, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any other harmful language of any kind. We do not publish depictions of suicide attempts or suicidal ideation.

We're very interested in comics and short/flash fiction. Poems are great too! We want to see your best and most beloved work.

We are most interested in showcasing BIPOC, nonbinary, and genderqueer voices. Tell your friends.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
